When you are under chronic low grade stress over a long period of time, eventually your adrenal glands become tired of pumping out cortisol (our stress hormone) and start to slow down in their function. This eventually leads to low cortisol, which is when you will notice severe morning fatigue and hormone issues related to progesterone deficiency start to appear.
